During the recent EUFAMI AGM in Athens, the participants were given the opportunity to experience the Prospect Common Ground Module.
The workshop explored the “Common Ground” between family and friends, people with lived experience, and health and social care professionals. The participants from these 3 groups were able to face to face have the opportunity to understand each other’s situations better.
Speaker Simon Gelsthorpe presented the origins of the Common Ground Module from 2001.
Prospect Facilitator Miquel Miranda from Spain, led the Workshop in which the group worked together in multi-stakeholder teams.
The workshop started with some fun dynamic exercises to experience non-verbal communication In the working groups the participants gained awareness of the challanges of three-way communcaion. This resulted in co-creating solutions for future reference.
Some feedback from the participants:
Everyone in the smaller group as well as in the bigger group appreciated other people's opinions and there was sufficient room express one's ideas and thoughts.
It was very powerful and great mix of exercises!
Prospect Facilitators Training Event
Between April 20 and 23, 2023, an international Prospect Facilitator Basic Skills Training took place. There were 58 participants from 12 European countries: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Sweden and Spain.
The Basic Skills Training was very intensive. Over the two and half days of training the participants had an opportunity to learn and refresh facilitation skills, get to know the Prospect training programmes, exchange experiences, knowhow and best practice, create and enlarge their international networks, and to find the common ground between the 3 participating stakeholder groups:
- Family and Friends
- People with Lived Experience
- Health and Social Care Professionals.
The Training Event would not have been possible without the time, energy and contributions from the Facilitator Team which led all the different sessions.

The event succeeded with its goals and the participants left exhausted but with a positive energy and motivated for taking the next steps in the project process.
There are many photos from the Training Event, here are a selection of some. A full report will be available at a later date.
